Luana Bottallo is a self-taught artist from Turin who lives in Piedmont on the shores of Lake Orta. She regards art and literature as a daily refuge, intertwining material gesture with poetic language. Her formative path, which began with technical foundations, has gradually evolved into an inner exploration that brings together neuroscience—particularly neurogenesis and sensory perception—and art history, with the aim of making the invisible dimensions of human existence visible: body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The reuse and decontextualization of materials become, in her work, a form of “alchemy”: a profound transformation in which discarded objects are transmuted into treasures. This process parallels a vision of human redemption and becomes an empathetic invitation to recognize hidden potential everywhere. Since 2023 she has been exhibiting her work in galleries in Milan and internationally, including London, Berlin, Paris, and New York. White, her predominant visual language, evokes ethereal thresholds and liminal spaces that dissolve the ego and invite a shared sense of catharsis. Her rarefied works explore psychological depths, fragility, and injustice, veiling cries of anger within softer, healing whispers. Her art encourages viewers to pause, listen, and uncover intimate truths—an artistic practice that aims to heal, connect, and transform. Among her principal exhibitions and projects: 2009 – Xmas Joy and Life, “Gabriel”: winner of the municipal call for a public art installation, Municipality of Miasino (Novara), Italy; 2019 – MAG in Flight, Always in Flight; 2024 – Di Volo in Volo_01, Bird: commissions for permanent installations created for corporate events; the works are displayed at an international company operating in the aeronautical sector in Borgomanero (Novara), Italy; 2024 – Di Volo in Volo_01: winner of the International Contemporary Art Prize, with a live exhibition at Galerie Thuillier, Paris; 2025 – NowHere: winner of the International Art Prize 2025, Berlin; 2025 – NowHere: winner of the UK Artist Award, Top London 10–2025, International Art Prize in London.
